Sponsoring at L+S (June 07^th 2010)

New bus for Gerd Schönfelder

Since 2003, L+S is engaged in disability sport and supports the arm-amputated alpine skier Gerd Schönfelder (see also Sponsoring) as main sponsor. At the beginning of the year he added 4 paralympic gold medals and 1 silver medal to his impressive trophy collection in Vancouver. In spite of his success Gerd Schönfelder remaines to be an indigenous and very friendly person. Aside from the sponsoring aspect, an intense and personal relationship has grown between the team of L+S and “our Gerd“. Therefore, we are glad to be able to support him, among other things, with a new VW-bus. ”TV touring” was present when the bus was handed over:

Congratulations!

We are more than glad about the outstanding final examinations of our trainees in the field of  biology and chemistry laboratory assistants. The results were so good that all graduates were offered a scholarship for futher education of the program for the gifted by the Chamber of Commerce.
With 17 trainees, L+S AG belongs to the largest training companies of the region. Aside from biology and chemistry laboratory assistants also skilled employees for office communication are trained there.
L+S AG offers those interested in natural science a diversified and challenging apprenticeship with the possibility of continued employment after a succesful graduation.

Determination of Water Activity (November 11^th 2009)

New procedure at L+S

No microbial growth without water – this knowledge is used by the F+E-Departments in the pharmaceutical, food and cosmetics industry within the product development. In the process it is not the absolute water content that is critical but the microbially available water, the so-called water activity (a_w value). Low water activity contributes to product conservation and safety in the end.

From now on Labor L+S AG offers the determination of water activity as new analysis procedure.

15. AMG Amendment (October 2^nd 2009)

What changes during external test orders?

In August 2009 the 15^th AMG amendment has become effective. But it already causes confusion with the placing of external test orders because some companies wrongly assume that basically all tests necessary of approval now require an approval according to § 13. In the process the previous regulations remain valid and are only amended:

The possibility to partially have tests that are subject of approval according to § 14 (4) carried out in an authorized external contract laboratory explicitly remains. In addition, as of effectiveness of the amendment there is the option to delegate the entire test to a contract laboratory with an authorization according to § 13. The tests can then be certified by the qualified person of the contract laboratory. The qualified person of the ordering customer remains responsible for the clearance of the pharmaceutical.

Labor L+S AG has applied for this permission according to § 13 for the testing (but not for the clearance) of the pharmaceutical. After receipt of the permission two type of testings are possible at L + S:

• Testing as until now according to § 14 (4) AMG under the requirements of our subcontracting agreement.
• Testing according to § 13 AMG with preparation of a Certificate of Compliance (CoC) with the analysis certificate after completion.
